Roberto is a seasoned clinical psychologist with over 12 years of experience, specializing in the integration of mindfulness meditation, therapeutic practices, and the therapeutic use of psilocybin.
His career began in Mexico, where he completed his clinical psychology studies, followed by hands-on experience at the National Institute of Psychiatry (Ramón de la Fuente CDMX).
Early in his career, Roberto developed a strong passion for meditation, which would become a central part of his therapeutic approach.
His dedication to meditation led him to Toronto, Canada, where he trained as a Dharma Student under Korean Zen Buddhist master Samu Sunim. During his time at the Zen Buddhist Temple, Roberto deepened his practice through extensive meditation retreats and studies in Zen Buddhism. His commitment to mindfulness and meditation also took him into the clinical world, where he collaborated with psychologists applying John Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program for patients suffering from chronic pain at a Pain Recovery Clinic.
This pivotal experience demonstrated the profound effects of mindfulness in a therapeutic context, forming the foundation of his clinical practice.
Upon returning to Mexico, Roberto founded Centro Dharma, a center dedicated to psychological counseling and mindfulness meditation. Since 2011, he has maintained a successful private practice, helping individuals manage stress, anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation through meditation, breathwork, and relaxation techniques. His teachings are shared with both individuals and groups, creating a wide-reaching impact on those seeking to integrate mindfulness into their lives.
In addition to his work with meditation, Roberto is a pioneer in his area in the therapeutic use of psilocybin, which he has incorporated into his practice since 2012. Inspired by the groundbreaking research at institutions such as Johns Hopkins, Roberto has guided hundreds of individuals through psilocybin-assisted therapy to treat conditions such as anxiety, depression, addiction, and obsessive behaviors. His approach combines the benefits of psilocybin with mindfulness practices, facilitating a holistic healing experience that encourages deep personal transformation.
Psilocybin’s ability to deactivate the brain’s Default Mode Network (DMN), which is associated with rumination and negative thought patterns, complements Roberto’s meditation teachings.
Both practices work together to help individuals break free from destructive mental habits, achieving what he refers to as a “neurological reset.” By offering psilocybin-assisted therapy in a safe and supportive environment, Roberto empowers individuals to explore expanded states of consciousness, fostering healing, self-compassion, psychological and spiritual growth.
Recently, Roberto has started Sati, where he continues to innovate in the field of mental health, blending ancient mindfulness traditions with modern therapeutic approaches like psilocybin therapy. His commitment to personal well-being, psychological safety, and transformative experiences makes him a trusted guide for those seeking alternative healing methods and deeper self-awareness.

Psilocybin is the psychoactive compound found in certain types of mushrooms, known as “magic mushrooms”.
At the neurological level, this substance significantly decreases the activation of the brain regions that are responsible for our thoughts, reflections, contemplating, fantasizing or having internal dialogues
These brain areas are “overactive” in people with stress, depression, anxiety and obsession problems. This is why Psilocybin is starting to be used as an aid in the improvement of people with these emotional or mood problems.
